Collection: Boostani Crafts | Baskets

My name is Lois and I live in Surrey. Basket weaving is a handcraft that uses very simple tools during the sisal preparation stage…the rest is hand work.  My grandmothers and aunties wove beautiful baskets both for utility and for selling over the years. In August 2019 I travelled to Kenya and learned how to weave. One of my aunties took 2 days to teach me (so now you know that its not rocket science).  In February 2020 I taught my Zimbabwean friend, Ruth, how to weave and together we present to you these beautiful baskets.
