Filament is a Vancouver based design studio that offers furniture pieces by U.K. born founder, Joseph Band. Trained in Applied Arts at Plymouth College of Art, Band began his creative practices working with glass, ceramics, and metals before discovering carpentry. Filament offers a series of timeless home furnishings and bespoke services. From years of experimentation with both wood and steel, Band specializes in creating insightful objects that compliment both of these materials in their raw form. Designing pieces that are as functional as they are beautiful, Band's multi-disciplinary approach combines a wealth of material understanding and a rigorous design sensibility. Â
