What made you start this shop?

Our shop is the place we wished into existence while seeking out furnishings for the stunning homes of our clients, in some of British Columbia’s most spectacular getaway locations. We found ourselves ordering things from around the globe, which we found unsustainable, so we started looking closer to home, and the BC Makers Collective was born.

How do you differ from Etsy?

Our shop is a collective made of Makers and Artisans in BC only and is curated by Elle and Wendy (as designers) to provide a one-stop shop for all home decor needs. The design style that we strive for is west coast contemporary, with all items that are west coast made. 

What does *Made to Order mean?   

“Made to Order” is marked on items that are made once the order is processed. Due to the craftsmanship required for the level of detail, we ask that certain time allowances be made, which are depicted by the Maker. 

 

Where are you based and where do you ship?

We are based in beautiful Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) BC, however everything is shipped directly from the Maker to you. Due to our commitment to sustainability in our business model, we only ship inside Canada.

 

Why does it say “shipping is not available to your region”?

Since we are working with local artisans and small batch work, some of our Makers have not determined shipping costs for all parts of Canada. If you get this message and would still like an item, please send us a message and we will follow up with the Maker to see if they would be able to quote for a shipping fee to your area. 

Are all your Makers from BC, Canada?

Yes, all of our Makers and Artisans live right here in beautiful British Columbia!

What if we see something that we like and it’s sold out?

If you see an item that you love but it’s sold out, don’t hesitate to reach out to let us know of your interest. We are happy to follow-up with the Maker to see if more can be made. 

Are items customizable?

It depends on the product and the Maker. Please send us an email with any inquiry that you have and we will respond within 24 hours!
